Having one’s entire village wiped out by a high-born brute and almost dying in the process would really put a damper on things for most people. But Belissar isn’t most people. Not anymore. After being saved by a little lone bee core, he found himself with his own tower and gained not only legions of cherished, fanatically loyal pollinating minions but also a host of new powers, weapons, and warriors to protect his beloved hives.

Belissar’s latest project comes care of a special request from his patron gods: expanding underground to raise fire-type bees (hot honey, anyone?). He’s also negotiating with a race of skunklike people inhabiting the Underway to work together to eradicate the Hunger. But will they raise too much of a stink?

Meanwhile, as he takes care of things at home, leaders across other lands and realms are being roused by the gods to gather their forces and prepare for war. And the only thing they have in common is the strange, singular vision lodged in their minds. Something about…bees?
