As Finnian Duskwalker, thief extraordinaire, recovers from a nearly mortal wound, among the druids of the Forest of Evermore, he is a given a task by the Greenfather. He must accompany the comely, young druid Thistle Bramblefoot through the forest, so that she can take her Rite of Awakening.
