The Royal Academy of Magical Baking 2: A Cozy Slice-of-Life Fantasy

After making it through her first year at the academy—and changing the entire baking world in the process—what challenges will Lyra face in year two?

No longer is the world of baking bound to the three traditional disciplines of Flavor, Texture, and Presentation. For the first time in the history of the Royal Academy of Magical Baking, there are four students in the second-year class, and Lyra, with the help of her professors, is pioneering a whole new discipline: Enjoyment. But not everyone in the baking community is happy about these developments….

The academy board is divided, as are the third and first-year students, with naysayers searching for any excuse to squash the nascent discipline before it can rise. And as if that wasn’t a difficult enough recipe already, life at the academy has a few tricky new ingredients for Lyra. Her relationships with her friends are changing—particularly with one especially handsome individual—and according to the traditional curriculum, year two is all about pastry.

Now, in order to conquer their second year, find a new rhythm with one another, and establish Enjoyment as a fully proofed discipline, Lyra and her friends will have to come together like never before.
