It can be confusing, contradictory, and sometimes just plain wrong. So, in his first ever podcast, chef, author, and public health advocate Jamie Oliver talks to six experts who can cut through the noise. Listen in for the latest, science-backed advice and hacks that can try and help us live a happier, healthier life. It\u2019s not about being perfect, but if we can get it right more often than not, the potential benefits are massive and long-lasting.<\/p>\n<p>By the time we\u2019re finished we\u2019ll know what we can do today to help our health in the short term, long term and time in between. There\u2019s something for all of us, at any point in our journey. Sorry!<\/p>\n<p><b>Episode 1: The Hosepipe<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Jamie reflects about the things he\u2019s learned over the years not just in the kitchen, but also growing his own food in the garden and asks what we can all do to be that little bit better when it comes to our health. To kick things off he talks with Dr Emily Leeming, a research scientist at King\u2019s College, London, and a registered dietician. They start this journey in the gut, but why?<\/p>\n<p><b>Episode 2: The Food Voice<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Jamie wants to know why he\u2019s always thinking about food and what exactly \u2018appetite\u2019 is. Professor Giles Yeo is a geneticist at Cambridge University who studies obesity and the way the brain controls what we eat. He explains to Jamie why he might find a bacon sandwich so hard to resist and why controlling what\u2019s in your cupboard can help us to control our appetite.<\/p>\n<p><b>Episode 3: Chew on That<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Jamie\u2019s keen to discover if it\u2019s not just about what we eat, but the way we eat it too! He asks Sarah Berry, a professor of Nutritional Sciences at King\u2019s College, London, and they uncover the hidden secrets of food texture, and the impact that chewing soft foods versus crunchy foods has on our health. And Jools and Jamie talk about bringing up their five children and finding ways to get more veg into their lives.<\/p>\n<p><b>Episode 4: The Butterflies<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Can what you eat actually affect the size of your brain? Dr Megan Rossi, a gut-health scientist and registered dietician and nutritionist, talks to Jamie about the connection between our brains and our guts and how what\u2019s going on in your head, affects what\u2019s going on in your gut, as well as the other way around. Also, Jamie learns some special breathing techniques to help\u2026 erm\u2026move things along. Plus, why stressed people fart more!<\/p>\n<p><b>Episode 5: The Silent Gym<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Why can\u2019t Jamie get enough good sleep? Jason Ellis, Professor of Psychology at Northumbria University and Director of the Northumbria Centre for Sleep Research, has helped Jamie with his own sleep problems over the years. Here they\u2019ll dive deep into sleep cycles, better sleep, and explore the way the foods we eat can help or hinder sleep. Plus, he&#8217;ll de-code one of Jamie\u2019s recurring dreams!<\/p>\n<p><b>Episode 6: Age Disgracefully<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Is age really just a number? As Jamie reflects on turning 50, he meets Professor Rose Anne Kenny who is Regius Professor of Medicine at Trinity College Dublin and a leading expert in the field of aging. They discuss chronological versus biological age and how to protect your memory as you grow old disgracefully.
