In the first book in the series, against all odds, Chris Alan was able to defeat most of the aliens who had conquered Earth.<\/b><\/p>\n

By enlisting the help of a renegade alien AI and her ship, he was able to kill off most of the Dostivex Masters before they could even land. But a significant number of the predatory monsters was already in the process of eating their way through our species. Then, in that darkest hour, out of nowhere, a new alien fleet arrived in orbit and finished off the remnants of the brutal alien subjugators. But, was humankind to be saved or simply now to be forced to wear another alien’s yoke?<\/p>\n

Now, with the curse of the alien invasion apparently over, society is trying to pull itself out of the ruins it was left in. Governments slowly begin to reshape and recover. But lawlessness also raises its unwelcome head. Chris finds that possessing the only working alien technology on the planet makes him a prime target for everyone else. They want to be the ones to control the new and dominant machines, and they are willing to do anything to achieve their goals. How can Chris keep what is his?<\/p>\n

To make matters much worse, a tremendously powerful alien has taken an interest in Chris, based on all he accomplished on his own. In fact, Visquisor is so impressed with Chris that he forces him to accompany him on his continuing journeys through the galaxy. Visquisor subjects Chris to more and increasingly impossible tests, determined to learn if his earlier successes were one-offs or evidence of Chris truly being a diamond in the rough. But to what end Chris needs to prove himself, he will never know. He is only increasingly certain that Visquisor is a maniac and that he is unlikely to ever see home again.<\/p>\n

So, after saving his species, is Chris able to escape his new and perverse fate? The penalties for his failure will be catastrophic, personally as well as for his home world. Can he pull off another minor miracle while alone, trying to stay alive, and far from those he loves?<\/p>\n
